Let’s get to know Nakimuli, today’s TCFStyle vendor spotlight.
Brand Name: Nakimuli
Years In Business: 9 years
What type of business?
Apparel / Accessories
What is the story behind your brand?
Nakimuli aims to go beyond the traditions of women’s fashion and explore more of the imagination, creating fashion-forward garments for forward-thinking young women. Inspired by color, shapes, and prints, Nakimuli has created their own fashion revolution: one that embraces a love of self at any size, inspires sisterhood, individuality, comfort, and lots of fierceness. Be bold; become your own trendsetter. Dream. Explore. Dare.
Why this focus?
Because everyone looks the same, I wanted to give women a different option.
What inspired you to get into fashion?
My mom; she always let me be who I wanted to be and dress the way I wanted to dress.
Are you self taught/passion driven or did you go to school for this?
What or Who is your style/design inspiration?
It started with the unique vibe of dope women of NYC/Brooklyn. Now it has expanded to all over the globe via the internet.
What has been the biggest success of your brand, to date?
There have been many…but I would say being able to be in business for 8 years.
What would be one of the biggest style myths in Plus Size or Big & Tall Fashion?
That plus size women cannot be fashion forward.
How do you think the plus size industry has grown over the years?
There are a lot more designers/fashion lines that now understand that plus size women would like to look fly as well.
Have you attended or vended at the expo before? If not, tell us your past experiences, if so, let us know what you are looking forward to!
