Are you ready for the 2018 TCFStyle Expo? One of the greatest things about the expo experience is the fashion, of course. The chance to get in front of the various plus size boutiques and retailers makes the expo the ultimate plus size shopping experience. And for today’s expo vendor spotlight, we shine the light on ATL’s own Christian Ome’Shun. Featured numerous times on The Curvy Fashionista, Christian Ome’Shun has become an expo favorite. We love her flare with color and fabrics, and so will you.
Let’s meet Christian Ome’Shun, 2018 TCFStyle Vendor.
Years In Business
What type of business?
What is the story behind your brand?
When I was in high school, I always had trouble finding clothes that fit. I have always been tall and size. I also got tired of not being able to find pieces that were multifunctional and somewhat minimalist. I always felt like plus women were not provided with the clean-cut and glamour clothing that straight size women were offered. So once I graduated high school, I went to school for fashion. The goal was to be able to provide women with quality clothing that not only fit but Also be able to get the most out of your wardrobe.
Why this focus?
Because plus women deserve the same luxury and quality as standard size women
What inspired you to get into fashion?
Lack of options for y’all and plus women
Are you self-taught/passion driven or did you go to school for this?
Went to school for fashion design
What or Who is your style/design inspiration?
Christian Siriano and Sergio Hudson
What has been the biggest success of your brand, to date?
Preparing to show at Full Figure Fashion Weeks 10 year anniversary!
What would be one of the biggest style myths in Plus Size or Big & Tall Fashion?
That we are not willing to pay for quality fashion.
How do you think the plus size industry has grown over the years?
I think that the consumers are more vocal about the space that we fill up. We are demanding that brands see us and holding them accountable when they don’t show up!
Have you attended or vended at the expo before? If not, tell us your past experiences, if so, let us know what you are looking forward to!
Every single year has been a blessing to my business! I’m looking forward to bringing my consumers pieces they actually want to shop!
What can the attendees of the TCFStyle Expo look forward to seeing from you?
Inventory they actually want to shop! Huge deals and of course onsite custom options!
